Join IMI as an Senior  ESC Consultant

Join our Engineering Service Consultant  and use your engineering knowledge to help design efficient heating and cooling solutions for projects across international markets.

The  Senior Engineering Services Center (ESC) consultant provides specialist technical support to IMI Hydronic Engineering teams and customers. Working with technical drawings and project requirements, you will develop solutions for the balancing, control and pressure maintenance of HVAC systems, using IMI Hydronic Engineering products and engineering tools.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining technical calculations, HVAC system design, problem-solving and customer interaction in an international environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the ESC team, you will:

  • Select and size valves and pressure maintenance equipment for heating and cooling applications.
  • Carry out hydronic calculations using HySelect, HECOS and other engineering tools.
  • Prepare technical system drawings using 2D AutoCAD.
  • Review project plans, specifications and tender documentation and recommend suitable technical solutions.
  • Prepare calculations, equipment selections and product lists using Excel and other engineering tools.
  • Develop alternative technical solutions based on project and customer requirements.
  • Build strong knowledge of IMI Hydronic Engineering's products, HVAC systems and applications.
  • Interpret technical project requirements in English, gather the information needed and prepare clear technical recommendations.
  • Manage your own projects from initial request through to delivery and follow-up.
  • Explain and discuss your proposed solutions with internal and external customers.
  • Build strong relationships with the customers and markets you support, communicating proactively and ensuring work is delivered on time.
  • Collaborate with other ESC engineers and specialists, and occasionally coordinate work across the team.
  • Support technical training, demonstrations and selected on-site activities, including system balancing.

As your experience grows, you may also have opportunities to deliver technical training, represent the ESC at events and provide support to the Team Leader.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • A BSc or equivalent engineering qualification, ideally in Mechanical, Building Services, Energy or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • An interest in HVAC, building services, energy systems or hydronic engineering.
  • Experience using 2D AutoCAD.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Comfortable communicating in English in an international working environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A structured and accurate approach to technical work.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new products, engineering tools and HVAC applications

Nice to have

We would be particularly interested if you already have experience with:

  • HVAC or building services engineering
  • Heating and cooling system design
  • Hydronic calculations
  • Valve sizing or pressure maintenance systems
  • Technical project support or application engineering
  • Working directly with customers or engineering consultants
    German language skills

You do not need to know every IMI product or ESC system when you join. Structured technical training will help you develop this knowledge in the role.

What you can expect

You'll join a specialist engineering team where you can develop your technical expertise while working on real HVAC projects across international markets.

The role offers the opportunity to build expertise in hydronic engineering, HVAC system design, technical consulting and customer-facing project work, with increasing responsibility as your knowledge and experience grow.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong learning agility and curiosity for technical subjects.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
