Job Title: Account-Based Marketing Specialist , Data Centers

Role Overview:
The ABM Specialist, Data Centers is responsible for leading product and solution communication strategies within Climate Control’s Data Center vertical, which includes products from all of Climate Control’s product brands, but most notably IMI TA, IMI Flow Design and IMI Pneumatex.
This role will focus directly on critical Data Center infrastructure, hyperscale and colocation buyers, major EPCs, and the high-density cooling challenges that shape mission-critical facility decisions past 2030. It bridges technical product marketing with high-impact experiential marketing, including Account-Based Marketing (ABM), Account-Based Experience (ABX), VIP customer hosting, executive roundtables, premium customer merchandise, and hands-on field marketing event execution.
This role collaborates closely with Portfolio Management and Category Management, the digital team, and local marketing teams to ensure the development and deployment of a holistic communication toolkit that supports product launches, hero products, and ongoing portfolio priorities. The position emphasizes customer insights, omni-channel communication, and commercial integration to strengthen brand presence and drive market success.
Work Environment: Hybrid; 3–4 days per week on-site/in-office.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Hosting & VIP Event Planning
- Design, organize, and execute exclusive, high-touch VIP customer hosting programs and executive roundtables tailored for major Data Center operators, hyperscale and colocation buyers, and engineering decision-makers.
- Coordinate and host facility visits, IMI product demonstration tours, and hospitality events that showcase IMI’s mission-critical cooling solutions.
- Partner with leadership to ensure VIP experiences align with strategic account growth priorities and deliver a premium, seamless brand experience for data center target customers, partners, and channel.
Field Marketing & Event Support
- Drive planning, setup, and on-site execution for selected Data Center industry trade shows, regional conferences, and localized customer outreach events, including events such as 7x24 Exchange, PTC, Yotta, Regional US conferences, and Data Center World.
- Coordinate with Global data center sales and product engineering teams to align event goals, manage local logistics, and ensure lead-generation campaigns are executed effectively.
- Track event participation metrics, coordinate post-event follow-up, and report to CCLT (leadership) on the commercial impact of field initiatives.
Premium Customer Merchandise & Brand Assets
- Select, design, and procure premium, memorable customer marketing merchandise that reflects IMI’s brand quality and marketplace image.
- Manage promotional vendor relationships, quality control, inventory distribution, and logistics to support field marketing events and high-priority account activities.
- Align merchandise selection with ABM and ABX outreach programs to maximize impact with key account stakeholders.
Product Communication
- Collaborate with Global Data Center Director and Portfolio Management to validate annual launch calendars, priorities, and commercial objectives. Ensure product messaging is explicitly mapped to critical Data Center infrastructure needs, hyperscale and colocation buyer priorities, EPC decision processes, and high-density cooling value proposition.
- Lead the end-to-end development of communication toolkits for new and hero products, including:ABM Activation(s)
- Definition of key markets, target customers, and go-to-market channels.
- Creation of customer value propositions (CVPs) per customer type. Develop highly technical CVPs mapped to the Data Center design cycle, including colocation, hyperscale, consultants, contractors, and engineering decision-makers.
- Development of communication strategies and campaign concepts with agencies and internal teams.
- Selection of communication channels, including distribution partner promotions, trade shows, and customer events, in collaboration with the digital team and local marketing teams.
- Supervise, manage, and participate in content creation, including:
- Digital assets (banners, videos, social media)
- Copywriting for product collateral, ad copy, PR, technical articles, and brochures. Author and oversee Data Center-specific technical literature, white papers, case studies, digital assets, and application presentations.
- Validate toolkits against go-to-market strategies and market needs.
- Implement toolkits across international channels and support localization with key markets and the digital team.
- Maintain up-to-date product communication materials and sales tools (presentations, brochures, displays, demonstrations).
- Support product portfolio communication for local trade shows and wholesaler channels.
Customer Insights
- Analyze buyer behavior, triggers for purchasing decisions, and conversion drivers to build customer personas. Include Data Center-specific technical and commercial triggers such as power usage effectiveness (PUE), liquid cooling adoption, commissioning speed, uptime requirements, and thermal management risk reduction.
- Drive customer surveys and market research to enrich brand awareness activities in key countries.
- Monitor competitor campaigns, share insights, and disseminate best practices across the team. Track competitor positioning, product launches, and field marketing activity within the Data Center thermal management space
Budgeting
- Manage central budget planning, follow-up, and investments related to Data Center product communication and campaigns, including VIP hosting, customer events, field marketing activations, and premium merchandise procurement.
- Support local market marketing planning and budget processes by issuing guidance, reviewing plans, and coordinating justifications.
Reporting & Market Coordination
- Define key metrics and success criteria for marketing communications. Track timelines, budget impact, and report campaign ROI against KPIs. Include KPIs for physical field events, executive hosting, ABM engagement, lead generation, account progression, and commercial pipeline influence.
- Collaborate with the digital team to gain insights into content relevance for customers.
- Coordinate with key markets on product communication plans to monitor launch deployment, ensure alignment with strategy, and share best practices.
- Track campaign implementation and results across markets.
- Lead quarterly market reporting with global/region SLT leadership to collate outcomes and disseminate learnings.
Trademarks
- Act as a consultant for trademark activities related to IMI TA, IMI Flow Design and IMI Pneumatex (and future commercial product brands) liaising with legal and external partners as needed.
Critical Competencies for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product or communication marketing, preferably in B2B or technical industries. Direct experience in the Data Center industry, HVAC, power infrastructure, industrial cooling, or mission-critical infrastructure sectors is highly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in ABM and ABX initiatives.
- Proven capability planning high-touch customer hospitality events, managing premium promotional vendors, and running on-site trade show operations.
- Willingness and ability to travel 20% to 30% domestically to support customer events, field marketing programs, and industry conferences.
- Strong expertise in digital content creation, campaign development, and omni-channel communication.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver ROI-focused marketing initiatives.
- Experience in market research, customer insights, and competitor analysis.

Pay range: $110k to $137k per annum
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
